First Family    

• Deacon of the Week - Mark George 10/4 - 10/11 followed by Mike Tracy 10/11 - 10/18.
• MidWeek  - The fellowship meal will begin at 5:00. Adult meals are $7, children's meals are $3, with the maximum family meal being $25.  Pastor Dan continues his study on Genesis. The ladies have a JOYful gathering each week. Our students grow together while strengthening their relationship with Christ. Our kids have fun while learning Bible truths, Bible skills and memorizations, and learn about missions all over the world. Also during this time, our choir practices. The menu will be pulled pork sandwich meal, salad, chef's choice sides, and assorted desserts. Children may choose from a TBD kid's menu or a half-portion of the adult entree. 
• Fall Break is NEXT WEEK - 10/11 - 10/17 - We will not have our MidWeek services on Wednesday of this week. 
• Worship Care Goal - We don't want anyone to miss the blessing of serving in our Worship Care Ministry during the service. It is a rotating schedule and we have a goal to get that to 8 weeks, meaning ONCE every 8 weeks our volunteers would serve. For that to happen, 30 church members need to help us! Contact Chad or the church office so you can be blessed by our littles!!
• Serve Night - Wednesday, 10/21, 6:00 - 7:00 - Reverse Trick-or-Treat -  Come and join us as we visit our local care facilities and bless them with treats. 
• Business Meeting - Sunday, 10/25, 6:30 p.m.  - Join us in the chapel as we discuss the business of the church. This meeting was originally scheduled for 10/18. 
• Trunk or Treat - Wednesday, 10/28, 5:30 - 7:30 - Trunks start at 6:00. Our goal is 35 trunks and 40,000 pieces of individually wrapped candy! Please bring your candy donations to the orange bins by the office and Door #6 by Sunday, October 25. Sign up here for a trunk, https://forms.gle/8V8dBWGftWV7hvHP6 
• Christmas Backpacks - Pack a backpack. Change a child's Christmas. Fill a Christmas backpack for a Kentucky child in need with items such as school supplies, clothing and hygiene items, and toys. The best part is every backpack includes a clear presentation of the gospel and serves as a reminder that someone cares about them and God loves them. Please pray on how you can contribute, whether by packing a backpack or donating so that our students can pack a bag for your. Empty backpacks are available at the church office. For more information, click here. Use this link so we can track our progress toward our goal. Backpacks should be turned in to the church by October 18. 
• Operation Christmas Child Build-a-Shoebox - Help us meet our goal of 250 shoeboxes to be completed by November 16. You can pack your own box or it is more economical to build a shoebox online. You can also purchase a completed shoebox at the same cost and we will build it for you. Each box is $30 including postage. Simply drop a check payable to SFBC in the offering plate or at the church office and signify for OCC. If you'd like to build a shoebox online, just click here. 
• New Church Window Stickers Available - Every stoplight can be an invitation. Available in the church office.
• Merry & Bright, Sunday, 12/6 - Save the date for for Merry & Bright! Setup and Christmas Parade is on Saturday, December 5. 
• Prayer Meeting - 10/25 from 5 - 6 p.m. - We meet in the sanctuary for special prayer the 4th Sunday evening of each month.

Children's Ministry

• American Heritage Girls - AHG is a Christ-centered, character and leadership development program for young girls ages 5 - 18 years. AHG meetings are led by Sitha Powell and Sam Henderson. Check the events page for meeting dates, times, and locations. 
• Merry & Bright, Sunday, 12/6 - Save the date for for Merry & Bright! Setup and Christmas Parade is on Saturday, December 5. 

Student Ministry

•  Bible Fellowship, Sundays at 9:30 - Come be a part of our Middle School or High School Bible Fellowship class where we do a deep dive into the Bible to learn how to apply God's word to our lives. 

Men's Ministry

• Men’s Bible Study - Saturdays at 8 a.m. - Mike Fackler leads the foretelling book of Revelation in the Fellowship Hall. We hope you come and join us.    
• Men’s Morning Bible Study - Tuesdays at 8 a.m. at Cracker Barrel - This dedicated Men’s Bible study group continues their breakfast meetings. Guests are welcome!  

Women's Ministry

• Girls Night Out, November 5 at 6:30 p.m. - Meeting at Giovanni's
• MidWeek Christmas Devotional - Led by Tatum Hart during the month of November.
• Bible Study Fellowship - Thursdays at 9:30 -  BSF is an international organization for women with participants from all ages from all around the world. The new study will be Romans: From Guilt to Grace. The leader is Laura Lyon. Call the church office if you would like to know more about BSF or go to bsfinternational.org.

Worship Ministry

• Worship Choir - "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord!"  We invite you to join us as we lift our voices in song on Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. in the Choir Suite. If you would like to be a part of our praise team, please call Pastor Martin, 502-633-1317.   

MidWeek 

• MidWeek  - The fellowship meal will begin at 5:00. Prices have been adjusted a bit this semester. Adult meals will be $7, children's meals will be $3, with the maximum family meal being $25.  Pastor Dan will resume his study on Genesis. The ladies plan to have a JOYful gathering each week. Our students will grow together while strengthening their relationship with Christ. Our kids will have fun while learning Bible truths, Bible skills and memorizations, and learn about missions all over the world. Also during this time, our choir will resume practice. The menu will be smothered chicken (honey mustard, shredded Swiss, and cheddar cheese, and applewood bacon) or baked Salmon with cream lemon and caper sauce, spring mix salad, lemon parmesan orzo and glazed carrots, cornbread, and assorted desserts. Children may choose from mini corndogs or a half-portion of the adult entree.
• Hope Group will resume at a later date. 

Missions/Ministry

• Mary Sampson WMU - Next Meeting is Tuesday, October 6 at 10:00 a.m. - Our Mary Sampson WMU meets the first Tuesday of each month at 10:00 am in the Barrett Bible Fellowship classroom. Come be a part of learning about missions and how missions impacts so many across the globe. 
• The Sending Table Next Event will be October 29 at 6:15 p.m. - The Sending Table is a group at Shelbyville FBC led by Charity Taylor. This group is learning about how Southern Baptist Missions are impacting the Kingdom and is experiencing missions as a church through giving, praying, and going. You are welcome to join us for our next meeting in the Fellowship Hall.
• Blessing Box Ministry - CURRENT NEEDS - SPAGHETTI, CEREAL, PEAS, AND CORN - We have two Blessing Boxes. One is for food items and the other for items such as toiletries, blankets, jackets, hats and gloves. You may bring your contributions and place them in the wheelbarrow located at the office entrance. (If you drop off your contributions anywhere else we are unable to get a count of them.) Thank you for your support of this invaluable ministry!
• Bible Study Fellowship - Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. -  BSF is an international organization for women with participants from all ages from all around the world. • Support Missions - You can support missions while shopping at Kroger! SFBC can earn rewards from Kroger at the same time you earn your rewards and it's free! You can enroll easily. The funds received by SFBC are split between Sunrise Children's Services, Oneida Baptist Institute, and Clear Creek Bible College.

Praying for European Peoples

France. Pastors in western and southern France serve faithfully amid a higher secular culture. Ask God for perseverance for these pastor and for other disciple-makers in church plants throughout Brittany and on the French Riviera. Ask God to raise up leaders for new gospel work.
