First Family     

  • Hiring!... Our Weekday Preschool Ministry is hiring an assistant teacher and substitute teachers. Hours are 8:30 am-12:30 pm, Monday, Wednesday and Friday with the possibility of Tuesday/ Thursday. You must go through church and Commonwealth hiring procedures. Please fill out an application in the church office and email your resume to Jessica Smither,  Please send in your resume by August 8. 
  • Deacon of the Week... Wayne Anderson, August 3-August 9 followed by Dusty Blevins on August 10-16. 
  • Deacons Meeting... the monthly Deacon's Meeting is on August 17 at 5:00 pm in the Chapel.
  • First Family Business Meeting... will be held on August 17 at 6:30 pm in the Chapel. 
  • Monthly Prayer Time... Join us on August 24 for Monthly Prayer in the Sanctuary at 5:00 pm.
  • KBC Equip Training... EQUIP Training will be held on August 28, 5:00-9:00 pm in Lexington. Transportation will be provided. EQUIP conference provides training for church leaders in many different areas including Children & Student Ministry, Communications, Deacon Ministry, Evangelism, Finance, Men's and Women's Ministry, Revitalization, Sunday School, WMU, Worship and Music.   • First Responder Weekend Prayer Cards... Let's unite in prayer for First Responders in preparation for this special time to honor them. If you did not pick up a prayer card for a specific First Responder, there are still some available. Contact the office for a card or if you would like to volunteer to help on the First Responder Weekend September 6 thru 7th. 
  • NCBN Fall Meeting... will be on Sunday, September 21, at the Crestwood Baptist Church (6400 Sweetbay Drive, Crestwood, KY 40014). If you would like to attend, please contact the office to register as a messenger no later than September 11.

  • Church Security...With our security procedures and equipment that were installed last summer, our security team can assist you if you need access to the building after church or office hours. Please e-mail them at
Children's Ministry
  • Weekday Preschool Registration... Our Weekday Preschool Ministry registration for the 2025-26 school year is open. The registration fee is $75.00. We have classes for children who are 3 years old and 4 years old on August 1, 2025. We currently have a waiting list for our 3-year-old classes and our 3 day 4-year-old class.  Please e-mail  for more questions or to schedule a tour.
Worship Ministry
  • Media Ministry Volunteers... The media ministry needs you! Whether you are tech-savvy or just willing to learn, you can play a vital role in helping our church reach people both in person and online. If you want to serve and make a real impact, contact Martin Gureasko. 
  • Worship Choir... If you would like to sing with our worship choir, join us for practice on Wednesdays at 7:30 PM in the Choir Suite. Additionally, if you would like to be a part of our praise team, please see Pastor Martin. 
Men's Ministry
  • Men’s Tuesday Morning Bible Study… Our dedicated Men’s Bible study group continues their 8:00 AM meetings on Tuesday morning for breakfast and Bible study at the Cracker Barrel. Stop in and say hello!
  • Men’s Bible Study… Mike Fackler leads this ongoing study on the book of Genesis on Saturdays at 8:00 AM in the Fellowship Hall.  Feel free to join them.
MidWeek 
  • MidWeek Wednesday Nights returns on August 13!  MidWeek begins with a time of fellowship and a tasty meal prepared by Chef Brent Evans. Our menu: Meatloaf or Fried Chicken, Iceberg Salad, Yukon Mashed Potatoes, Country Style Green Beans, and Cornbread with assorted desserts. The Fellowship meal will be served from 5pm-6:15 pm. Children's Music runs from 6:00-6:30 pm. Students and Bible Studies are held from 6:15-7:15 pm. You are always welcome to join us. 
  • MidWeek... Pastor Dan will lead the Adult Study from the New Testament Book of Galatians; Room 303. The Women's Study will be led by Angie Reid based on the New Testament Book of Titus; Room 300. Students will gather with Pastor Brett in the Student Room to strengthen their relationships with Christ.  Pastor Chad will lead our Children in Bible truths & missions on the 2nd floor. (Children need to be checked in by a parent before children's music.)  Our worship leader, Pastor Martin, will lead Choir Practice at 7:30 pm. 
Missions/Ministry
  • Christmas in August Tea... Ladies, you are invited to join us on Saturday, August 9, at LaGrange Baptist Church for a Christmas Tea. Mark your calendars for this fun event! We'll meet at 11:30-1:30 pm at the LaGrange Baptist Church whose address is 1139 Commerce Parkway, LaGrange, KY 40031.
  • Mary Sampson WMU... Our Mary Sampson WMU meeting this month has been changed to Wednesday, August 6.  Please join us at 10:00 am in the Chapel. Be a part of learning how missions' impact so many across the globe. Their next meeting will be Tuesday, September 2. 
  • KBC Disaster Relief Training... Disaster Relief Training is available on September 15 in Bowling Green and October 11 in Campbellsville.  Find details and register at www.kybaptist.ort/disaster-relief/ 
  • Blessing Box Ministry... Special requests: Soups, crackers, spaghetti, canned vegetables. There are two Blessing Boxes. One is for food items and the other for items such as blankets, jackets, hats and gloves. You may bring your contributions and place them in the wheelbarrow located at the office entrance. (If you drop off your contributions anywhere else, we are unable to get a count of them.) Thank you for ALL the support you have given this invaluable ministry!
  • Supporting KBC Disaster Relief Continues… You can help support Disaster Relief: 1) By donating gift cards to Lowe’s, Home Depot, Visa, Walmart or Tractor Supply and 2) by writing notes of encouragement to our Disaster Relief volunteers who will be serving affected areas. Send both to the Kentucky Baptist Convention, Attention “Disaster Relief” at 13420 Eastpoint Centre Dr., Louisville, KY 40223.
  • Bible Study Fellowship… BSF is an international organization with students of all ages from all around the world. BSF women’s group is taking a break for the summer. However, they will be back in full swing on September 11. Call the church office if you would like to know more about BSF or go to bsfinternational.org

Friends Together Ministry
  • Friends Together Luncheon... We will gather at the historic home of Mary McGillen for a potluck luncheon on Thursday, August 14 at 11:30 am. Our program will include a special guest speaker and musical entertainment along with a delicious lunch. The entree and drinks will be provided. Please bring an addition to our meal if you can. If your last name begins with A-H, bring a Side, I-R, bring a Veggie or Salad and S-Z, bring a Dessert. There is no cost to you, however, advance registration is requested by Monday, August 11, for planning purposes. Space is limited, register today! All adults are invited. The address is 1120 Main Street, Shelbyville.
