  • Upward Basketball Season is Here!... Sign your athlete up today! Click HERE! Kids ages 5 years old through 8th grade are invited to join us for an exciting season of Christ-centered basketball! We are in need of coaches, assistant coaches and referees. Please see Brett to sign up to help.
  • Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes... Join us and pack a shoebox! Our goal is 250; 150 online and 100 actual shoeboxes. Shoeboxes and brochures are available by Door #6 or in the sanctuary foyer. You can also build your boxes online here. It's easy and economical!  Bring your filed boxes to the sanctuary on Collection Sunday, November 16th 
  • Has your heart ever ached for an orphan? You are invited to join us next Sunday, November 16th, at 9:15 am in the Chapel to meet Cheri Farley. She is a Kentucky-based Missionary and director of the Orphan Care Alliance in Frankfort. You are sure to be blessed and encouraged as you see God's Work brought to life.
  • Deck the Halls... Join in the fun on Monday, November 24, at 6:30 pm as we decorate for the Christmas season! We'll meet in the Fellowship Hall then be dispatched throughout the church. Then we'll meet back there for refreshments when finished.
  • Merry & Bright Mini Golf... is Sunday, December 7, 4-7 p.m. Sign up to help in many different ways. We have 4 holes that need to be adopted. If you adopted a hole last year, please plan to repeat it. Sign up now or reach out to Tiffanie Mueller. There are many other roles that need to be filled including construction crew, decorating, baking cookies or brownies, and helping in the kitchen.
  • Walk Through Nativity... You can also play a part in our walk through Nativity to share the true Christmas story with our guests. Sign up or reach out to Tiffanie (513-465-8102) to get plugged in. Don't miss this special outreach opportunity!

Children's Ministry  
  • Children's Midweek... Pastor Chad and his team lead our children in Bible truths and missions on the 2nd floor during MidWeek on Wednesdays. Jessica Patton leads children's music from 6:00-6:30 pm. (Children need to be checked in by a parent before children's music.)  
  • American Heritage Girls... AHG is a Christ-centered, character and leadership development program for young girls ages 5- 18 years. Their next meeting will be on Thursday, November 20, 2025.  AHG meetings are led by Jessi Brown and Angie Brown. You may join them in the Fellowship Hall. 
Women's Ministry
  • Christmas Women's Bible Study... Unwrapping the Names of Jesus is on four Wednesday nights from November 5th-December 3rd, at 6:15-7:15 pm in the Women's Ministry Room 300 (3rd floor). Let's make this Christmas all about Him! Please register here to receive a special gift at the end of the study. The cost is $5.00. 
  • Gra-TEA-Tude, a Women's Tea Party... You will not want to miss this sweet time of warm fellowship and special treats! Come and join us on November 16th from 2:00-4:00 pm for a special time together. There is no cost, but please register here to attend.
Men's Ministry
  • Men’s Bible Study… Mike Fackler leads this ongoing study on the book of Genesis on Saturdays at 8:00 am in the Fellowship Hall.  Feel free to join them.
  • Men’s Tuesday Morning Bible Study… Our dedicated Men’s Bible study group continues their 8:00 am meetings on Tuesday morning for breakfast and Bible study at the Cracker Barrel. Stop in and join them at any time. 
Worship Ministry
  • Worship Choir...  We've begun looking towards the holidays so it's the perfect time to join our choir. We practice on Wednesdays at 7:30 pm in the Choir Suite. Additionally, if you would like to be a part of our praise team, please see Pastor Martin. 
  • Media Ministry Volunteers... The media ministry needs you! Whether you are tech-savvy or just willing to learn, you can play a vital role in helping our church reach people both in person and online. If you want to serve and make a real impact, contact Martin Gureasko. 
MidWeek 
  • MidWeek Meal... begins with a time of fellowship and a hot meal prepared by Chef Brent Evans. Our menu for November 19th: Smothered Chicken or Seared Salmon, Iceberg Salad, Wild Rice, Steamed Broccoli, Hawaiian Rolls and Dessert. Kid's Meal: Chicken Nuggets and 1/2 portion of Adult Entree & Dessert. The Fellowship meal will be served from 5 - 6:15 pm. Children's Music runs from 6:00-6:30 pm. Students and Bible Studies are held from 6:15-7:15 pm. You are always welcome to join us. 
  • MidWeek Studies... Pastor Dan has begun a new study based on the Old Testament Book of Genesis. Our women will begin a 4-week study "Unwrapping the Names of Jesus". Students will gather with Pastor Brett in the Student Room strengthening their relationships and growing with Christ. Pastor Chad will lead our Children in Bible truths and missions on the 2nd floor. Jessica Patton will lead Children's music from 6:00-6:30 pm. (Children need to be checked in by a parent before children's music.) Our worship leader, Pastor Martin, will lead Choir Practice at 7:30 pm.

  • Mary Sampson WMU... Our Mary Sampson WMU meet each month on Tuesdays at 10:00 am in the Chapel. Come be a part of learning about missions and how missions' impact so many across the globe.
  • Winter Coats... Instead of selling your extra winter coats or donating them to one of our local thrift shops, why not launder them and bring them to the church office so we can give them to those in need.
  • Bible Study Fellowship… BSF is an international organization for women with participants from all ages from all around the world. It's back in full swing on Thursdays, 9:30 am-11:00 am. The new study Exile and Return is taken from the Old Testament. We welcome our new leader, Laura Lyon. Call the church office if you would like to know more about BSF or go to bsfinternational.org
  • Support Missions... You can support missions while shopping at Kroger! SFBC can earn rewards from Kroger at the same time you earn your rewards and it's free! You can enroll easily. Visit KrogerCommunityRewards.com and sign in to your account or create an account. Then select First Baptist Church Shelbyville as your organization. The funds received by SFBC are split between Sunrise Children's Services, Oneida Baptist Institute and Clear Creek Bible College.  
  • Blessing Box Ministry... There are two Blessing Boxes. One is for food items and the other for items such as toiletries, blankets, jackets, hats and gloves. You may bring your contributions and place them in the wheelbarrow located at the office entrance. (If you drop off your contributions anywhere else, we are unable to get a count of them.) Thank you for ALL the support you have given this invaluable ministry!
Missions Moment
  • November 9, 2025 - Ole of Bhutan:  Entering an Ole village, a believer was immediately welcomed by a woman who was a direct answer to prayer for "Lydia" (Acts 16). The believer shared the gospel with village leaders. Pray for the gospel to take root and that this woman will have a church in her home.
