First Family
- Deacon of the Week... is Jerry Tracy, December 7-13 followed by Dusty Blevins, December 14-20.
- New Deacons... We will be voting on new deacons on today, December 7. They include Jonathan Cook, Jerry Murphy, Aaron Pack, Wes Penick, Tim Salmon, John Shannon, Dalton Steinke and Mike Tracy.
- First Family Sunday... On the first Sunday of each month, families stay together during the worship service. There will be no ROCK time. Babies through preschool children will meet in their area. We will enjoy donuts, coffee, and milk in the Fellowship Hall after Bible Fellowship then go to the sanctuary together. (The Lord's Supper part will not be used this Sunday as we moved it to Christmas Eve.)
- Merry & Bright Mini Golf... is Sunday, December 7, 4-7 p.m. Sign up to help. We still need help, especially serving in the kitchen, so see Chad Lynn or Matt & Tiffanie Mueller to help.
- Salvation Army Bell Ringing... This annual event is such fun, and the kids love it! If you would like to give a small part of your time that makes a big impact, please call the church office and we'll sign you up. We'll be at Kroger, this Saturday, December 13, 9 am to 6 pm.
- Poinsettia Orders... Donors may take their poinsettia home after the service.
- Upward Basketball Season is Here!... Sign your athlete up today! Click HERE! Kids ages 5 years old through 8th grade are invited to join us for an exciting season of Christ-centered basketball! We are in need of coaches, assistant coaches and referees. Please see Brett to sign up to help.
- Derby City Brass Band Concert.... The Derby City Brass Band will present a free concert on Friday, December 12, at 7:00 pm in the sanctuary. Join us and invite your friends and neighbors.
- Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes.... You can still build shoeboxes online, here! You can fill your boxes online before December 15.
- Churchwide Caroling... We will go in groups to sing Christmas carols and songs to some of our Senior saints. Join us at 4:45 as we will leave at 5:00. We will have refreshments too!

Children's Ministry
- Children's Midweek... Pastor Chad and his team lead our children in Bible truths and missions on the 2nd floor during MidWeek on Wednesdays. Jessica Patton leads children's music from 6:00-6:30 pm. (Children need to be checked in by a parent before children's music.)
- American Heritage Girls... AHG is a Christ-centered, character and leadership development program for young girls ages 5- 18 years. Their next meeting will be on Thursday, December 18, 2025. AHG meetings are led by Jessi Brown and Angie Brown. You may join them in the Fellowship Hall.
Men's Ministry
- Men’s Tuesday Morning Bible Study… This dedicated Men’s Bible study group continues their 8:00 am meetings on Tuesday morning for breakfast and Bible study at the Cracker Barrel. Stop in and join them at any time.
- Men’s Bible Study… Mike Fackler leads this ongoing study on the book of Genesis on Saturdays at 8:00 am in the Fellowship Hall. Feel free to join them.
Worship Ministry
- Worship Choir... It's the perfect time to join the choir as we've begun looking towards the holidays. We practice on Wednesdays at 7:30 pm in the Choir Suite. Additionally, if you would like to be a part of our praise team, please see Pastor Martin.
MidWeek
- MidWeek Studies... Our MidWeek studies will resume on January 14, 2026. Please watch for details.
Missions/Ministry
- Salvation Army Bell Ringing... This annual event is such fun, and the kids love it! If you would like to give a small part of your time that makes a big impact, please call the church office and we'll sign you up. We'll be at Kroger on Saturday, December 13, 9 am to 6 pm.
- Mary Sampson WMU... Our Mary Sampson WMU meet each month on Tuesdays at 10:00 am in the Chapel. Come be a part of learning about missions and how missions' impact so many across the globe.
- Winter Coats... Instead of selling your extra winter coats or donating them to one of our local thrift shops, why not launder them and bring them to the church office so we can give them to those in need.
- Support Missions... You can support missions while shopping at Kroger! SFBC can earn rewards from Kroger at the same time you earn your rewards and it's free! You can enroll easily. Visit KrogerCommunityRewards.com and sign in to your account or create an account. Then select First Baptist Church Shelbyville as your organization. The funds received by SFBC are split between Sunrise Children's Services, Oneida Baptist Institute and Clear Creek Bible College.
- Blessing Box Ministry... There are two Blessing Boxes. One is for food items and the other for items such as toiletries, blankets, jackets, hats and gloves. You may bring your contributions and place them in the wheelbarrow located at the office entrance. (If you drop off your contributions anywhere else, we are unable to get a count of them.) Thank you for ALL the support you have given this invaluable ministry!
- Bible Study Fellowship… BSF is an international organization for women with participants from all ages from all around the world. It's back in full swing on Thursdays, 9:30 am-11:00 am. The new study Exile and Return is taken from the Old Testament. We welcome our new leader, Laura Lyon. Call the church office if you would like to know more about BSF or go to bsfinternational.org.

On July 7, 1873 Charlotte "Lottie" Moon was appointed as a missionary to China. With a bold spirit and a heart full of love for the Lord, she dedicated her life to sharing the gospel with the people of China -- faithfully serving until her passing on December 24, 1912.
